PACSonWEB allows medical imaging studies to be smoothly exchanged between institutions. Depending on the workflow the recipient may choose to import the images into the local PACS manually or automatically. The studies may always be consulted first of all in a web browser before they are imported. These functionalities offer several options for importing the study into the local PACS with the appropriate patient and study data.

Specific examples of how the PACSonWEB Image exchange system can now be used:
  1. Ad hoc exchanges between hospitals, with the images of hospital A being transferred to hospital B. PET-CT studies, for example.
  2. Automatic exchange of specific studies, in the context of a screening between the first and second reader, for example.
  3. Importing studies in combination with the patient portal so they can be imported into the hospital PACS on the basis of a reference number.
